I hold an Associates of Science degree in Christian Ministry, a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a Christian Counseling Specialization and a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MMFT). I am licensed in the state of Montana as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).
For those of you seeking faith-based services, I am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. I see Christian counseling as a process in which a person’s life issues are addressed holistically by using a biopsychosocial-spiritual approach based on a solid biblical foundation/worldview. My spiritual approach is one where I use Scripture and its principles as a guiding and foundational factor integrated within the course of psychological treatment. Although I believe that Christian spirituality and spiritual formation are essential parts of assessment and intervention, I will not use these methods with any counselee without prior consent. You do not have to be a Christian to receive Christian counseling.
In addition to Christian counseling, I also specialize in working with those who have experienced domestic violence, other traumas, and posttraumatic stress. I am a Certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapist with additional training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Therapy (TF-CBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). However, I do provide therapy for a wide range of issues in addition to these two specializations. Because not every person is the same, I use a multi-modal psychological approach to treatment.
